Dr. Lora Capobianco

Assistant Research Director

I am a research fellow in the ADePT Research unit and MCT-I Registered Therapist. I work across a number of projects within the unit including YoMeta, PATHWAY, and PATHWAY-Beacons. I have also been awarded strategic research funding to further support mental health in children and adolescents with physical illnesses. Prior to working at GMMH,  I completed my PhD at the University of Manchester in 2017 where I evaluated the role of metacognition in stress and recovery. Following my PhD, I worked at the Christie Hospital conducting a pilot study of GATEWAY-C, an online education platform aiding GPs with early detection of cancer. My research interests include: evaluating recovery from stressful events, evaluating mental health in physical illnesses in both adults and children, and evaluating metacognitive therapy across common mental health disorders.
